I have been shooting a series of photographs which entertain the idea of taking a longer look at the details of everyday life. I find beauty in the often unnoticed, ordinary details that we encounter on a daily basis, but often surpass. So far, my photographs have allowed the viewer to spend time looking at things they would normally ignore, using rich contrast, texture, and abstract shapes. I have been exploring places in nature, indoors and many abandoned, run down areas. I will continue to explore these areas, but will focus more on nature and organic shapes. I spend most of my time looking around a space before photographing when I go out to shoot. This allows for me to achieve a greater appreciation for the unimportant in order for it to come across in my photography.
