reconsidering the word "everyday"

After talking with my professor and peers today, I have been thinking a lot of about the use of the word "everyday" in regards to my project. The dictionary definition states it as something commonplace, a daily occurrence, ordinary and routine. While my photographs may be of everyday places and scenes to some people, they are not familiar to all. I think a better word to describe the concept that I am going for is "commonplace" or "unexceptional". Some of the places I visit are not part of my daily life or part of others daily life, but they are places and things that can be seen often if we look for them.
